National Grid Metering provides installation and maintenance services to energy suppliers in the regulated market in Great Britain. We maintain an asset base of over 12m industrial, commercial and domestic gas meters whilst looking for ways to continually improve the service for customers and staying at the forefront of innovative technological solutions. We support two distinct portfolios – high volume, low complexity domestic sites to low volume high complexity industrial and commercial; whilst managing a 24/7 contact centre with supplier and consumer queries.
The successful graduate will play a critical role in supporting the National Grid Metering’s Service Delivery Operation and the Senior Asset Integrity Engineers across the UK. You will be required to project manage and will assist in evaluating the amount of investment required. This will include evaluating the condition and risk on I&C assets in line with the Strategic Asset Management Plan.The placement will offer a fantastic opportunity to develop experience and expertise not only managing technical, stakeholder and customer interfaces but also to gain significant exposure within a highly commercial working environment. There is real scope to make a difference to the ‘bottom line’ through well thought through and carefully constructed commercial and strategic recommendations. Therefore the successful candidate should have sound time keeping skills and be well organised in order to put forward well informed decisions for the business and make the most of this opportunity.What you'll do
- Co-ordinate and support the strategic and commercial needs of the Industrial and Commercial metering department, within the Service Delivery function
- Embed processes that unlock value and manage risk of metering operations
- Develop a working knowledge of Industrial and Commercial metering installations and management of the asset base.
- Opportunities to develop and support on-going major projects across complex metering operations and asset replacement

You will receive a starting salary of £28,105 (or £29,127 if you hold a Masters) and a £2000 joining bonus.
