We take real pride in providing our employees with the support, respect and environment they need to thrive professionally. And our efforts have been recognised by some major awards bodies.
World's Most Ethical Companies 2015
For the fifth time, our commitment to ethical standards and practices has been acknowledged by Ethisphere, who have once again awarded us World's Most Ethical Company status. Promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance, global research centre Ethisphere recognises companies that shape future industry standards by introducing best practice today. Our outstanding ethical record and recognition is due to our commitment to corporate social responsibility, strong ethical leadership, strict compliance practices, thriving Ethics Liaison Network and our Always Doing the Right Thing ethical code of conduct.
We are a Living Wage Employer
As a proud accredited Living Wage employer, we’re taking it one step further than the accreditation requires. Our apprentices, higher apprentices, undergraduate students and graduates are also included in our Living Wage commitment.
Inclusion and diversity
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and diverse culture. Since the inception of the Inclusion & Diversity team at National Grid in 2005 we have been working with many best-practice associations to understand our organisational challenges and how we can continue to improve. We regularly take part in benchmarking activities, and where we feel proud of our achievements we enter respective awards. A few of our recent successes include achieving Gold status in both the Race For Opportunity and Opportunity Now benchmarking 2013, making The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2014 (retaining this accolade since first entering in 2006) and becoming a finalist for the Best for All Stages of Fatherhood award at Working Families.
