Operate and Maintain 2017
So what exactly are we looking for?
Within our Pressure Control & Storage (PC&S) environment you will lead a very varied lifestyle ensuring the maintenance fault-finding and rectification of our above ground assets within our Gas Distribution network.
As a Lead Engineer within the Pipelines division of our maintenance team you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our pipelines and above ground assets within the Gas Distribution network.
Within the Plant, Tools & Equipment (PT&E) team of our maintenance division we are looking for our next generation of Lead Engineer. Our engineers are responsible for the testing and maintenance of all the equipment used within the Gas Distribution network on a daily basis.
Demonstrating flexibility you will work with minimal supervision but as part of a multi-faceted team of professionals responsible for the operation and maintenance of our above ground assets. With a keen eye for detail you will ensure that all maintenance records are up to date, accurate and above all else, that our safety critical systems are available 24/7.
This is a complex environment where we all have a part to play ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed.
Who are you?
With knowledge of pressure control systems, pipelines or plant protection techniques you will have mechanical, engineering or maintenance qualifications – ideally C&G or NVQ (minimum of Level 2). As the role is mobile, we will expect you to have a full UK driving licence. If you have a good understanding of health & safety coupled with the ability to solve technical issues – we want to hear from you!
We are looking for real team players; people that want to make a difference to the success of our business. Equally, if you are willing, we will develop you into our future leaders so we would love to meet more people that can assist and instruct our future talent. This is an environment that caters for our customers round-the-clock, so can you work on a standby rota? Ideally you will have previous experience within a gas environment though you may be coming from another area of the utilities industry – either way, get in touch and then come and join us on our journey.
What can you expect from us?
After all that hard work, we like to really look after you! With a starting salary of £29,825, coupled with performance related bonus, shift and call out allowances as well as additional hour’s payment you will have real earning potential.
Though not everything is about work – we also give you industry leading training with recognised qualifications throughout your time with us. In addition to your excellent development opportunities our package also includes a defined contribution pension scheme, 25 days holiday and a comprehensive flexible benefits scheme. Together we can plan for your future – this really is a career for life! We value and encourage diversity of thought, whatever your background. By creating an inclusive, switched-on workforce, we drive performance and deliver excellence.
We will require an up-to-date CV with a covering letter outlining why you are applying for this position, relevant experience and what you can bring to the role.
